Cream Electric Art seriously raised the bar for image-build videos with these two animations of CGI imagery they created for Samsung’s holiday ad campaign for the QLED TV.
We got the call as the holiday break appeared in the horizon: R/GA New York sent a wonderful brief to us for a series of unique images supporting the new QLED TV that Samsung was promoting via digital media for the holidays. The agency tasked the CEA team to create CG-based images that didn’t fall into the typical holiday/Santa schmaltz, but that had a bit of an edge to them and didn’t feel like advertising. As the samples below show, CEA nailed the brief and then some! A miniature world created in CGI comes grinding to a halt due to poor decision making in this animated piece by Cream Electric Art for the Joy Agency in Sydney, demonstrating the risk of people not partnering with a Charted Accountant for their business’s needs.

Continuing an on-going relationship with Williams-Sonoma Art Director Kathleen Sullivan, Eva Kolenko was asked to direct a new video for W-S Open Kitchen featuring the proprietors of Ravenwood Farm, a unique gathering space celebrating the intersection of culinary arts, agriculture, and the local makers movement in Kerhonkson, NY. Kolenko and DP Stephen Meierding shot the owners and their friends and associates, gathering together for a meal in the renovated 19th century barn that is the centerpiece of the Ravenwood experience. Ogilvy Chicago came back to Eva Kolenko recently to create a couple cute images connecting kids and grilled cheese to support Sargento Slices, and Kolenko didn’t disappoint. Kolenko went to Austin recently to shoot Kristen Kish, owner/chef of Arlo Grey restaurant there, hosting a gathering of family and friends for Food & Wine Magazine’s Thanksgiving edition. As usual, Kolenko captured the essence of the people she shot along with the amazing, mouthwatering dishes served. Bring on the holidays! Prop styling: Natasha Kolenko
The “How Life Unfolds” campaign from Cramer Krasselt provided a rare opportunity for Cream Electric Art: The chance to work very collaboratively for over a year and a half with the agency, developing work that we all were proud of, under terms that were very fair to everyone involved. The images were created in 3D and retouching, and are below. CD: Jim Root | AD: Rebecca Mader | Art Producer: Karen Kirsch
Last month brought another great shoot for Kolenko with Joline Rivera, Founder and CD of Kitchen Toke Magazine. Here’s a sampling of the work they did. Food Styling: Adam Pearson | Props: Gena Sigala
Try as they might, Gout sufferers stray from the recommended foods/beverages to avoid, and Duzallo is there to help them when they do. This quirky campaign from Hill Holliday illustrates that fact with portraits of wayward angels with halos made from their diet sins, and was deceptively challenging to shoot. The halo props were shot practically and manipulated in post, and getting them to read well and in the proper position took a good deal of massaging. Scott and team succeeded in the end, with arresting results to go with the ads’ “I’m no angel” headline.
